My three words are simple, elevated and boxy! But I love how your taking it further and really suggest digging into what it is that’s draws us to our style icons.
Thank you so much for sharing a bit from my book, Tiffanie! I love how we sustainable style aficionados can come together on platforms like this and encourage more people to really know their style (which, I believe, ultimately leads to better shopping habits). Loved reading the comments from your readers too. xx
Great post, and I'm looking forward to the thrifting advice! Working in a charity shop for 2 years was how I learned to shop and it's wild what you can discover with patience. 🖤
I am obsessed with your style questions! As an image consultant, it's a funny thing to be in a place where I'm wildly uninspired by most of what I have in my closet. Going to give myself some grace knowing that I just emerged from the chrysalis of divorce. (And I'm half tempted to get rid of everything I have to start over. Highly impractical!)
REINVENTION! Exciting. I reckon you could probably have a lot of what you have altered - a new zingy lining in a coat for instance. A dress into a top. Change the length of a skirt. The jeweller Stephen Webster was telling me he quite often remakes the engagement rings of divorced women into belly button rings. Go wild sister!
Thank you for supplying such scintillating suggestions! What a way to deconstruct and rebuild. Hadn't even thought of ways to take my diamond and repurpose it! Loove!
It was hilarious what my friends came up with. 'hippie meets boardroom' was one offer. Maybe do it for your friends and see what you get in return. Its actually quite hard...
yes for the cape!!!
I've just tried the exercise from this post (and written up how I found it) and it was lots of fun! 🖤
So pleased you enjoyed it! x
It was great - thank you for giving me cause to think about it! If you're interested in the results, I talk about them in my latest post 🖤
That is so great to hear! And I loved your post and your mantra x

Classic, unfussy, chic!

I’ve done this before myself so I know right away: quirky urban classic. I’ve not asked friends though. I feel silly. Maybe this will embolden me?
